DR CHARLES BEST SECONDARY SCHOOL LOCKDOWN REPORT OF MALE WITH GUN COQUITLAM RCMP ERT SWAT TEAM LOOKING FOR SUSPECT MAR 28 2012 BY BCNEWSVIDEO Shortly after 2:00pm on Wednesday the 28th of March Coquitlam RCMP received a call of a male inside Charles Best Senior Secondary School in Coquitlam that was trespassing. The male a former student at the school was escorted off the school premises by the Principal. There was an unconfirmed report that the male a former student was in possession of a firearm. The School was immediately placed in lockdown mode to ascertain the potential risk to students and facility members. Coquitlam RCMP along with RCMP Police Dog Services and the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team attended the School and conducted a search of the school and surrounding area. Parents that were anxious to pick up their children were directed to the Coquitlam Alliance Church located at the intersection of Spuraway Ave and Mariner Way. After an extensive search of th! e School and surrounding area, the School lockdown was lifted at approximately 3:30pm.
